New Faces at JMW : Meet Our Interns

Enjoy this post written by Nathan Richards, JMW’s new Marketing Intern!

I am one of five interns spending time with J.M. Wilson.  Each of our stories is different, as are our plans for the future.  Spending time within the insurance industry has offered each of us unique opportunities to advance ourselves as professionals, as well as people, while still in college.  We are all thankful for this experience; the benefits of interning with J.M. Wilson will endure throughout each of our professional careers.

Meet Thomas Tobolic :

Thomas was initially drawn to the insurance field by Olivet College’s strong Insurance and Risk Management program; however, it is the people that have kept him in it.  Thomas is thankful for all of the fantastic relationships he has formed through insurance, especially those with the fine folks at J.M. Wilson.  He is currently interning in the Personal Lines department and responsible for sending renewal quotes to customers.  Upon graduation, Thomas would like to become an underwriter.

Meet Chelsea Mott :

Chelsea comes to the insurance world out of Olivet College with a background in Fitness Management as well as Insurance and Risk Management.  She plans to incorporate both of these backgrounds in the future by focusing on insuring athletes, personal trainers, training facilities, etc.  Chelsea is interning in J.M. Wilson’s Accounting department, helping out by depositing and producing checks, as well as ensuring all policies and premiums are correct before checks are produced.  Connect with Chelsea on LinkedIn

Meet Megan Dobbertien :

Megan began her adventure into the world of insurance quite early.  As a junior in high school she secured a job at a local agency, thinking it would be nothing more than a side gig.  Upon graduation, she decided to pursue a degree in Environmental Science at Olivet College – which was going fine until she realized that she couldn’t stand science!  Remembering her great experience with her first job, Megan switched her major to Insurance and Risk Management with a minor in Visual Arts.  Megan is currently interning with the P&C department, providing support with quoting, issuance, and service of policies.  Her future career plans include insuring fine art for an appraisal company and becoming a broker or agent. Connect with Megan on LinkedIn

Meet Jennifer Baum :

Jennifer, like our previous four interns, also attends Olivet College.  Originally a criminal justice major with the intention of becoming a parole officer, she too was drawn into insurance by Olivet’s strong program.  She especially values the way that she has been motivated to become successful through insurance.  Jennifer is spending her internship with the Transportation department, providing support as needed.  Her future plans include working as an E&S Underwriter as well as becoming a broker or agent.  Jennifer would also like to work in management.  Connect with Jennifer on LinkedIn

And me, Nathan Richards :

As for myself, I am a student at Western Michigan University studying Advertising and Promotion.  I am spending my time as an intern with the Marketing department and am tasked with creating and sending marketing materials such as press releases, faxes, and emails.  I also keep many things up to date, including the J.M. Wilson website.  I enjoy the unique challenges and opportunities that marketing insurance provides for me.  My future career goals include working in the advertising field with a focus in brand building strategies. Connect with me on LinkedIn

We are excited to meet JM Wilson’s agents and look forward to working with you soon!
