7 Types of Captivating Content

Does your agency have a blog or e-newsletter that you struggle to create content for?  Anyone who creates these communication tools has faced this challenge before – it’s the day before you plan to email/post/write and you have no idea what to write about!  You want to make it interesting, engaging, and beneficial for your reader – but aren’t coming up with any ideas.

Here are 7 types of captivating content.  Try one of these the next time you are stuck!

  1. Teach : Create content that teaches your reader something new.  Whether it’s sharing tips on how your insured can maintain their home and decrease the likelihood of claims or how to submit that claim when an accident happens, you are teaching your reader a new skill that will benefit them in the future.
  2. Entertain : Draw in your reader by focusing on a light-hearted or funny topic.  Not all of your content needs to be serious. Show your agency’s personality by including lighthearted (but tasteful!) content.
  3. Think : Stimulate your reader to think of a topic in a different way.  Ask questions of your readers and get them thinking.
  4. Debate : Express your opinion on a topic and ask the reader how they feel.  By initiating sincere conversation with your customers, you are building that relationship.
  5. Inspire :  Does your agency go the extra mile?  Tell your readers about it and inspire them to do the same.
  6. Share :  Tell your readers your story.  How did your agency get its start?  What charitable causes do you support? The more your customers knows about you, the more you enhance your relationship with them.
  7. Update : Communicate the latest and greatest.  Has a regulation changed?  Do you offer a new product? Or a new company?  Let your customers know.  It may present a new opportunity for you to grow your business with them!
